Starting on the ‘write’ path

The popular song tells us that “If you go down to the woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise.” Well, you will also be surprised (and fantastically impressed) if you happened to go down the Nursery activity street.  In all classes, children barely out of playgroup, some as young as three, are busy using their new-found writing skills to write their names, spell simple words and even work together to make amazing books. They began their journey as writers in January, with the introduction of phonics and letter formation.  By the summer term many of them are writing with just about anything they can:  pencils, crayons, paints, chalk and marker pens seem to be special favourites. “We are very proud of our super writers in Nursery,” said Miss Bataineh, NA teacher. “We are brilliant at writing!” added Madeline from NC.
