Under 13 Boys

League Champions and Tournament Winners

The Under 13 Football team for the fourth year in a row were winners of the League and Tournament. The squad performed to an extremely high standard throughout the season and won all League games, scoring 29 goals and conceding 5. In the Tournament, the team did not concede a goal and beat the British School in the Final 2- 0. Throughout the year, we have had  50 -60 boys turning up regularly to practice. There were some great individual performances this year and Player of the Season goes to Nazar Yousef for his great defensive skills, and Most Improved Player goes to Angus Winnings.

Squad: Mohmamad Fazli, Rogan Simeone, Nazar Yousef, Maxi Koeck, Tommy Botham, Ali Mattar (Captain), Faisal Al Khalifa, Hammad Abdulla, Henry Rogers, Callum Renni, Tom Fellows, Rex Tinsley, Ali Rauf, Sami Al Ruffai, Yousif Raza, Alexander Balet, Sami Jahani, Angus Winnings, Jack Broughton and Adam Sharma

Intermediate Boys Football Team

League Champions and Tournament Winners

It was a season of goals and glory for St Chris Intermediate Boys Football as the team won every League game and finished as League Champions. Despite a tough match early on against arch-rivals BSB, St Chris managed to win by a narrow margin, thanks to goals from the deadly boot of Faisal Al Khalifa. From there onwards, the season went from strength to strength. The task was often made harder with lapses in concentration and the concession of early goals, but each time the boys fought back to win by a large margin, scoring more than 4 goals on several occasions. The highlight of the season was actually a friendly game against the Rugby Club, who fielded a team of mostly Sixth Formers, 17 and 18 years old. The result?   5-2 to the 14-15 year old Intermediate Boys!! An unbelievable performance, where Andreas Babiolakis scored a 30 yard screamer and Man of the Match Mohammed Mattar cut through the Rugby Club defence like a knife through butter. Special mention this season must also go to Jean Boujakli, a terrific two footed player who is equally comfortable on the ball or in the tackle, and will undoubtedly be leading the team out next year when he moves into Year 10. Sam Hoar was also a tower of strength at the back, and Ahmet Rizk is a fine goalkeeper with lightning reflexes. Despite going out on penalties in the end of year Tournament, the team can look back on an almost perfect season!

Squad: Robbie Koeck, Ahmet Rizk, Sam Hoar, Izhan Ahsan, Ziad Alsharif, Faisal Al Haddad, Ayman Anwar, Jean Boujakli, Mohammed Mattar, Arjan Hanson Singh, Andreas Bibliolakis, Adam Harper, Laith AlHindi, Faisal Al Khalifa and Michel Toutoungy

Senior Boys Football

In what was expected to be a transitional season for the Senior Boys, with so many of last year’s team leaving for pastures new, this new crop of young talent certainly surpassed our expectations. With a final playing record of played 7, won 5, drawn 2 , lost 0 and scoring 33 goals in the process, we finished the season as worthy champions. A team made up predominantly of Year 12 boys can look forward to trying to repeat this success next year when the new season commences in October. Over the course of the season they have consistently shown their ability to play and work to the highest levels. Their attitudes to training and sportsmanship have been first class and their camaraderie and sense of fun have served to make this season an absolute pleasure for me as Coach. With everyone who played involved in important examinations this summer, I hope their success on the playing field is matched by equal success academically – they certainly deserve it!

Squad: Cameron Kennedy, Tariq Jallaf, Matt Rees, Jamie Smith, Mathew James (Captain), Tom Ashbery, Alec Peters, Callum Haggarty, Yousuf Sethi, Ishan Guha, Maytham Lari, Ellis Cowling, Oleksiy Chornobay, Seb Licence, Jack Pearce, Yousuf Al Sharif, Fawaz Al Balooshi
