Parents Take a Peek

The Infant School played host to over 500 parents at our ‘Welcome and Curriculum Afternoons’ in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.

Welcome1

The workshops were well-attended in each Year Group and parents had the opportunity to find out about procedures and routines as well as approaches to teaching reading, writing and mathematics used in the classroom. Parents also gained insight of how to could help and support children at home.

On September 7 and 8 Junior School pupils had the opportunity to welcome their parents to their year groups. Each class teacher delivered a brief talk explaining routines and new initiatives in the year group. The children then showed their parents around their classroom and activity group area.

This was followed on September 13 and 14 with welcome mornings for both native and non-native Arabic speakers. We were delighted to greet so many parents and it was a great opportunity for parents to meet their child’s teacher.

Native Arabic

Teachers gave an overview of the Arabic curriculum, routines and expectations. Questions were welcomed and both teachers and parents enjoyed the opportunity to get together. We look forward to welcoming parents back to our many other events and meetings during the year.

Non Native Arabic

Thank you to all our parents for supporting your children as they settle in to their new year groups and classes and if anyone needs assistance or has any further questions, please contact your child’s class teacher who will be more than happy to advise you.
