A Glorious end to a great Competition

Yaseen Muscat 2016The 43rd Muscat Open was recently played at Ras Al Hamra Golf Club in Oman with adult male players throughout The Middle East competing for this coveted Trophy. One of the most promising students from St Christopher’s, Yaseen Le Falher, competed in this highly prestigious event and performed exceptionally well indeed. Yaseen shot a promising opening round score of 75 to lie one shot behind the leader on 74. The next day saw a tumult of emotions as the lead swung one way and then another. Yaseen was actually 2 shots back with 3 holes to go but was standing all square on the 36th and last hole. It was a long demanding par 4 and after a disappointing drive and chip out sideways, Yaseen hit a glorious 4 iron to 5 feet with his opponent in trouble through the back of the green. Failing to get up & down meant that Yaseen could roll in his putt for a hard working par, which he did, and ultimately won the whole tournament by 2 shots! This is a tremendous achievement for a 15 year old lad and it certainly augurs well for the future. Well done, Yaseen and keep up the good work.
