Roma Vrijhof, a Year 9 student at St Christopher’s School, and her family and school friends, have initiated an exciting and popular Sport 4 Nepal project to raise money for the School’s Nepal Fundraising Challenge. The initiative features three Sports events, one of which, an Under 12 Football Tournament featuring ten teams, including two teams from Saudi Arabia, has already taken place on 4 March, raising an enormous BD1200. During the tournament, volunteers sold 300 homemade cookies and St Chris Nepal t-shirts. Well done to Bahrain Club Al Najma for winning the tournament beating Tekkers 3-0 in the Final. The organisers are already looking forward to the next fundraisers: Under 10 and Under 14 Football tournaments on 22 April at the Rugby Club and a Swim Meet on 6 May at St Christopher’s Saar campus. All teams and swimmers are invited to participate in these events. The hope is to raise as much money as possible for Nepal. Participants and spectators are all invited to come and try a home-made chocolate cookie! During the events, raffle tickets will be sold as well with prizes including Wahoo tickets and Movenpick vouchers! We look forward to seeing you there!
