Fabulous Swimming

Year 3 and 4 ended the half term with their inter house swimming gala. The excitement began on Monday 9 May when Year 4 jumped into the pool and competed in 25m races in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. The climax of the afternoon were the fun relays where swimmers used a frog board, noodle or float to show off their kicking.

It was great to see every pupil in Year 4 gain points for their House, from those who are in the Swim Squad to those who are still developing their technique.

Well done to the following house who won the cup:

1st place Osprey and Falcon

2nd place Merlin

3rd place Kestrel

On Tuesday 10 May it was Year 3 who made a splash. Building on their Year 2 swimming skills from last year, the swimmers progressed to races across the pool in all four strokes. Again, the highlight of the afternoon were the fun relays, with some swimmers having the opportunity to swim two widths.

It all came down to the last two races, as Merlin was leading up until the end, only to be pipped at the post by Osprey who swam away with the house cup.

Well done to the following house who won the cup:

1st place Osprey

2nd place Merlin

3rd place Falcon

4th place Kestrel
