A Model for Us All

The St Christopher’s Model United Nations (ChrisMUN) 2017 Conference, which is an entirely student led event, attracted the interest of three hundred and fifty students from nine schools across Bahrain. The conference, which was sponsored by Bahrain Fibre Glass, was held from Friday 15 to Saturday 16 September 2017 at St Christopher’s Isa Town Campus and was formally opened by welcome addresses from Deputy Secretary General, Marwa Al Matrook, and Nick Wilson, Head of Senior School. In their keynote addresses, ChrisMUN Directors, Ghada Alshehabi and Saamia Zia, both reflected on what MUN means to them personally and encouraged all participants to make the most of the opportunity to discuss global issues with their peers. In her closing speech, Secretary General, Bayan Al Turabi, formally declared the conference open. The designated charity for ChrisMUN 2017 was the Bahrain Down Syndrome Society. Monies collected for this charity during the conference will be formally presented to the representatives of the organisation. All agreed that the conference had proven highly successful and we are all looking forward to ChrisMun 2018.
