Food for a Cause

A fantastic effort was made by children, parents and staff who all got involved baking from scratch as part of Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution Day. TV chef, Jamie Oliver, has set up a food foundation to raise awareness about the health implications on relying on convenience food and getting children inspired to start cooking.

We had a fantastic response from children, from Nursery up to Year 6, baking healthy treats at home and bringing in to our own St Chris Food Revolution Day, with all the proceeds going to our Cleaner’s Day Out. Children were not only able to buy home-baked goods they were also able to see the Ritz Carlton make a delicious strawberry cheesecake, help prepare healthy vegetable pizzas with NKD Pizza and try the delicious breakfast foods from Emmawash.

The children loved planting seeds to grow their own herbs at home, kindly donated by Jassim’s as well as tasting a range of fruit and vegetables from Alosra. We also were joined by Chipa this year which freshly baked some gluten free savoury goods.
