On Thursday 31 October 2019, the Music Department enjoyed hosting the first Unplugged concert of the year. After a rigorous audition process, a group of exceptional performers were chosen to play at the event. This Unplugged concert was like no other before as it was filled with emotions following the recent passing of our woodwind teacher, Paul Bagshaw. At the beginning of the concert, Mr Wilson paid tribute to Paul and explained that, after much deliberation, the decision had been made to go ahead with the concert as planned. The evening was filled with beautiful music covering a wide range of genres from artists such as Stevie Wonder, James Arthur and Imagine Dragons. All students introduced their performances and explained their song choices or what the song meant to them. Some performers chose to dedicate their music to Paul and spoke about the impact that he had on their lives. The students’ ability to, not only perform to an audience, but also to have the courage to say a few emotional and brave words about their teacher, was absolutely incredible. All proceeds raised from ticket sales have been donated to Think Pink Bahrain.
