“I THINK MOST PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT IT BUT HAVE NO IDEA HOW COOL IT IS”

When Rob van der Eyken left, he presented me with the challenge of fulfilling the role of captain of the Saar Campus marathon team. After plenty of attempts (through email, the ‘bum bag’ presentation and the video from last year’s marathon) to persuade our staff to participate, we managed to form one main team with two captains. My goal was to have two teams from the Saar Campus, but what matters is that in the end we formed one exceptional team which included teachers, guards and Mohammed from Cafe 61!

The runners all required determination as they were faced with challenging legs which were long and uphill. In addition to that, the weather was quite hot and dusty, especially the desert legs.

The two team captains, Paul Millington and Linda Shark, were both immensely proud of our teams’ efforts. We achieved an impressive time of 4 hrs 18 minutes which put us in an overall position of 66th place out of the 180 teams that participated,

All of our runners thoroughly enjoyed the day and we would like to thank them all for taking part in this charity fundraiser.

Our Fabulous runners were :
