Wonderful Music

This year’s Music Festival was the best ever! Over the first two days of the Music Festival we heard over 200 performances. These were given by Soloists, Duets and Trios, Large Ensembles and Choirs. Over 400 students took part from 10 schools across Bahrain. Performances took place at Saar and Isa Town throughout both days. Students and teachers alike, flew from Isa Town to Saar and back to perform, adjudicate or accompany to make the performances come alive. It was a thoroughly enjoyable event and one which every performer should feel proud of.

At the Final on the third day, all of those previous performances were whittled down to only 21. The hall in Saar was full of nervous performers and probably even more nervous parents! The Final was excellent. The judges; Simon Bowler from Dubai College and Izzy Henderson from British International School AlKhobar had the task of deciding who should be the winners in the Final – the Category Winners. All of the performers rose to the occasion and there were many memorable performances, bringing tears to the eyes in the audience because the music was so beautiful.

The afternoon ended, after much deliberation from the judges, with the prizes being awarded by Mr Bowler, Mrs Henderson and Mr Goodwin.

Congratulations must be communicated to all who took part in this year’s Music Festival, however the stars of the show are the winners listed below.
