Amazonian Echoes and Mysterious Music
Thursday 14 March saw Year 4 transformed into a hot and steamy rainforest for the day. The echoes of Amazonian rain sticks and the outstandingly eerie musical compositions the children produced combined to create an authentic atmosphere in both the activity street and the classrooms. So authentic in fact, Mr Roycroft regularly got lost in the tangle of undergrowth outside his classroom.
The humidity was high but that did not stop the wonderfully industrious children buzzing around the forest floor, netbook in hand, trying to answer the challenging questions in the rainforest quiz. The Year 4 students left at the end of the day…sweaty, bedraggled but fully informed, happy and with a rain stick to remind them of their wonderful adventure.
