Here we are, the end of the Autumn Term already with festive celebrations to come. As always it’s been a really busy period, with a smorgasbord of events and activities for our pupils and the articles in this last Newsletter of the term continue to demonstrate this fact.

Inside you will read of our participation and successes in the Marathon Relay; Debating in Dubai; the Bahrain Young Performers Festival and a football competition.  Our Senior Girls’ Choir performed alongside the Manama Singers and actors from Years 7 to 13 gave three, mesmerising performances of  “Arabian Nights” – for me this was a genuinely unforgettable production.

Added to the recipe for a successful school were other ingredients such as, an Arabic Coffee Morning; Y1 food investigations; Egypt day for Y3; a book fair; assistance, from our students, to Gulf Air’s launch of Kids’ Meal Boxes and an assembly to celebrate Junior pupils’ achievement in specialist areas. All that in the last two or three weeks!

Topping the festive cake, as it were, was the Festive Fayre. This was a huge success with activities of all kinds and food for all tastes.  The Fayre raised a fantastic amount of money for FOSC … to find out how much, go to the article.

Looking a little way ahead: we have a preview of an important new item on the St Chris menu: SPARTA!

SPARTA is our name for the wide range of new and extended activities that are offered mainly in the late afternoon and at weekends – read all about it in “Will You Become a Sparta Legend?”.

Finally, may I wish everyone a joyful festive season and a Happy New Year.  As always, it is sure to  be both a happy and a busy new year for St Chris.
