On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Alliance française of Bahrain, an event was held at the Jumeirah Royal Saray on October 31. Abdallah Al Khalifa (Y10), Ahmed AlSalem (Y5), Eileen Boels (Y9), Hamad Al Ammadi (Y6), Deena and Layla Al Dahwi (Y9), read short poems of Abdallah Khalifa, a Bahraini poet in French or Arabic, or in both languages, depending on the pupils’ levels and abilities in both languages. To impress the audience, our pupils had to practise at the Alliance française during October half-term. Their efforts were outstanding and the poet was very touched by the St Chris pupils’ performance. Vous avez été fantastiques. Bravo!
