Under 13 and Under 15 Netball against JESS Dubai

As part of our preparation for the forthcoming BSME games, St Christopher’s recently hosted Netball teams from Jumeirah English Speaking School, Dubai.  Dubai has a flourishing schools’ Netball league with more than 70 school teams involved. It certainly proved a valuable experience as our Netballers have limited match practice here in Bahrain.  The standard of Netball was very high and our players were a little daunted at first.  However, the competitive spirit soon ‘kicked in’ and everyone of our Netballers gave it their all. As the day progressed, the many parents who came to support were able to witness the improvement in our teams and some amazing individual performances. The scores certainly did not reflect the commitment of our players nor the efforts that they made. It was fantastic to see the sportsmanship of the St Chris teams and the welcome that they gave the girls from Dubai. Despite being an incredibly hot day, a good time was had by all.  Thank you to Mrs Stewart, the parent helpers and the scorers and umpires for giving up their time – without their support, the event could not have happened.
