“This was the most competitive experience of my life so far, and at the same time the most fun. I hope other students from Bahrain get the chance to do this.” Anish Vishwakoti. “This is Abdulla Janahi from Team Bahrain. My thoughts on the tournament? Unforgettable. Truly unforgettable. We competed with the best, watched the best, defeated some of the best, and ultimately learned from the best. It was an honour to represent my country. We will be back for more. This is not the end, it is the beginning.” Abdullah Janahi.

The WSDC is the most prestigious pre-university debating tournament in existence and it has been running for twenty seven consecutive years, hosted all over the world. The pioneering Bahrain team from St Christopher’s – Bahrain has never been represented before – did incredibly well to defeat two national teams (Turkey and Japan) and get split decisions against the national teams of China, Bermuda and Croatia. We suffered three outright losses. The Bahrain team was awarded the Best New Team Award. The team was proud to be sponsored by Etihad Airways, Kanoo Travel and Raymond’s Suits.
