Perhaps not the world beating International side from New Zealand but, nonetheless, Head of PE and Director of Sport, Rob Subbiani has fond memories of playing against, and indeed scoring a try against a side known then as the Welsh All Blacks. In the region of 28 years ago today, Rob was a regular name on the team sheet for Swansea RFC and went on to make many more appearances for several top flight teams including Swansea, Llanelli and Bedford. Playing for Swansea against Neath with both sides including a wealth of international talent ranks highly amongst Rob’s countless memories from his elite playing days. Rob recounted, “Playing for Swansea Rugby Club seems like yesterday! I was fortunate to start my rugby career off playing alongside some legends of Welsh rugby, memories I will never forget”. Following his move overseas, Rob played many games for Bahrain RFC, numerous invitational sides and at International level for the Arabian Gulf.
