Fire Station Fun

Over a week in May, all Year 2 classes visited Budaiya or Isa Town Fire Station. The children listened attentively to a presentation about the work of the Bahrain Fire and Safety Service and what to do in the event of a fire. They also learned about the three ingredients that allow a fire to flourish: heat, fuel and air. The children loved the opportunity to climb in and on a fire truck, spray a water-gun, listen to the sirens and take a look around a fire station. The men of both Budaiya and Isa Town Fire Station have been gentlemen and we cannot thank them enough for their time, kindness, patience and humour. We had to do a double head-count upon leaving; some of the children (and teachers) expressed a desire to stay and join up.
