What a Wonderful World!

This was the title and the theme for our Y3 Cantata. The children were given the opportunity to learn and enjoy some pop songs from yesteryear. We hope these brought back some memories for our parents! Each song was chosen to reflect an aspect of our curriculum, so children found themselves singing about art, science, music and history. The performance kicked off with some Amazing Egyptians! The children were then keen to teach the world to sing. A brief history of art followed, when we sang about the artist LS Lowry and his matchstalk men and matchstalk cats and dogs. Then we moved on to science – both physics and biology. The children gave us a lesson about gravity followed by some fascinating facts about our muscles and bones. The performance culminated in a tasteful rendition of What a Wonderful World – the favorite of many including Edward, 3E. The Y3 children did a fantastic job of learning scripts, song words and dance moves, taking to the stage with confidence and enjoyment. What a show!

My favourite song was What a Wonderful World! (Edward Hirst)
