A Mixture of Colour and Tradition
The second edition of Hispanic Day, designed to celebrate the very diverse cultures and traditions of the Spanish-speaking world, took place on Sunday 11 October in the School Hall. The event featured musical performances by the very talented James Meakin 8B, who interpreted “Flim Flam Flamenco on the Guitar” and Gabriela Liandu 13A, who sang her beautiful own version of ” a la nanita nana”. The Bahrain Latino Community and St Chris parents then donned their traditional dress for the “Hispanic Day Traditional Costume Show”, under the applause of the fortunate Year 8 and 9 Spanish students who were invited to wear Mufti reflecting the colours of the Spain flag. Accomplished dancers, Mrs Marta Del Rio and Mrs Ruth LLuch in their typical Andalusian dresses, showed us what flamenco should really look like. We would like to thank the following parents and Bahrain Latino Community members for helping us make our second Hispanic Day a great success.
