A Moody Music Medley

IMG_9393

On Thursday 8 October, we held our tenth Unplugged concert. The Senior School Music Department decided to add a new twist to the event by introducing busking acts outside the School Hall to welcome the audience. There was an excited and buzzing atmosphere as students, parents and visitors mingled around the different performances at the ticket desk, in the car park and as they were drinking their tea and coffee. Miss Hill and Mrs Bourner sat through over four hours of auditions and then had the mammoth task of choosing only seventeen acts.

The concert itself had an impressive line-up which included performances from students in Years 7 -13. We heard new arrangements of songs such as ‘Say Something’, ‘Wake me up’, ‘Back to Black’ and ‘The House of the Rising Sun’. Luke Wilson blew away the audience with his version of the famous Whitney Houston song ‘I have nothing’ accompanied by Noor Halim, a real ‘tear-jerking’ moment! The final performance was an incredible a capella ‘mash up’ of different songs performed by Jasmine Atkinson, Luke Perry-Doporto and Abbie Tedford.

An outstanding concert, well done to all of the buskers, helpers and performers who were involved.
