Eggs-citing Easter Assembly

Today the Infant and Junior Schools held their annual Easter assembly for non-Muslim children. We were lucky enough to have Rev Butt come and speak to us about Holy Week and how Christians prepare to mourn and celebrate, Jesus’ death and resurrection. Mr Stephenson was very excited to share with everyone the large Galaxy Easter egg he had received from his Mum!

The children were very happy to have heard the true Easter message with some Year 6 girls saying that they were happy to reflect on the Easter story and will think about it when they open their Easter eggs on Easter Sunday!

The assembly finished with some quiet reflection in the form of a prayer, where Rev Butt thanked God for all of the gifts he has given us, in particular the gift of God’s son, Jesus.

Islam Assembly

The Arabic Department also held their annual Quran Assembly for all Muslim children.

On this day, the importance of Quran, its benefits, and the meaning of it was explained to the children. The Quran is the central religious text of Islam, which Muslims believe to be a revelation from God. It is widely regarded by Muslims as the finest piece of literature in the Arabic language.

Thank you to all the pupils who participated.
