Swim Meet – Dubai

While St Christopher’s students were enjoying their Labour Day holiday, 11 members of the Swim Squad jetted off to Dubai to attend their last overseas trip of the year. The two day competition was held at the Hamdan Sports Complex, which houses two 50m pools, plus warm up and diving pools. For some of our students this was a chance to compete for medals, while for others it was an opportunity to improve their personal best times and to gain experience competing in an Olympic sized swimming pool. Our students took on the challenge of 50m sprints in all strokes plus some tackled the longer distances of 100m, 200m and the daunting 200m IM event.

Although the students enjoyed competing in this competition, it is fair to say the climax of the weekend was the trip to Wild Wadi Waterpark. Here, the students competed in who could scream the loudest while shooting down the Jumeirah Sceirah, or who could stay on the surfboard the longest.
