Champions of the Track
On Friday 10 March a group of St Christopher’s students took part in the Bahrain Inter Schools Karting Championship help at the circuit near BIC. Six schools took part in this competition with a total of ten teams. The format of the competition was an endurance race where teams of two students took turn to drive for a total race time of one hour. The two St Christopher teams were:
St Christopher’s Team 1 – Hussain Hassan / Talal Al Saffar
St Christopher’s Team 2 – Alexander Bekker/ Braedyn Wallis
After qualifying, our teams lined up 4th and 6th on the grid. The race was closely contested with five teams separated by a few seconds. After some excellent driving, St Christopher’s Team 1 came home second and Team 2 grabbed sixth place not far behind. Mr Dodson upheld St Christopher’s honour, winning the staff race from a field of five drivers. Throughout the day all competitors showed a professional but courteous attitude to each other.
