On Sunday 17 November 2013, the US Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr Thomas C Krajeski, made an address to an audience of more than two hundred students from Years 10, 11 and 12 in the School Hall as part of the Enrichment programme. The invitation to speak at St Christopher’s followed Mr Krajeski’s meeting with St Christopher’s students at the UN Day Reception on Thursday 24 October. We were delighted that the Ambassador was able to attend given his extremely busy schedule. In his introductory remarks, Mr Krajeski spoke about his role as a representative of the President of the United States of America in Bahrain and provided an overview of the role the United States plays in the Middle East and globally, stressing in particular the strong relationships that exist between the United States and Bahrain. Students were provided with an opportunity to ask questions and it was clear that the session could have continued long into the morning given the high degree of interest in the issues raised. Mr Krajeski indicated that he hopes that future opportunities may be found to engage in further dialogue with students.
