Sun, Sand & Fun

Here is a well-known but often forgotten recipe. It is a recipe for certain excitement, lots of fun and a large dollop of laughter. Are you ready? Okay: just take a group of 6 and 7-year olds and add sand and water. That’s it!

The recent Year 2 visit to Bahrain Yacht Club was a not-to-be-missed event where all children and helping parents had a wonderful time. Whilst at the BYC, the children combed the shoreline for marine life, finding crabs and fish and then everyone got down to the serious business of building an array of spectacular sand castles. There were castles with moats, castles with turrets, castles with bridges and castles with dungeons.

Everyone is agreed that this was a wonderful experience and a great way to kick-start our study of oceans and seas as well as a much deserved morning of fun. One of the children explained, “I think this is the best trip ever. I’m going again!”
