Wow, what a Performance!
As part of our whole school swim championships, we hosted a special Infant Gala, for children aged 5-8 years old. The swimmers were primarily from Year 1 and Year 2, with a small group of Reception children who were invited to attend because they had showed outstanding swimming ability during lessons.
For some of the children it was the first time they had ever competed in any sort of gala, and the atmosphere was filled with excitement and trepidation. They had the opportunity to compete in 25m freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke races. For the swimmers who wanted a challenge there was also a 50m freestyle event at the end of the afternoon.
