An Honour

In 2012, Think Pink Bahrain established a Community Engagement Award, in which the best Corporate and School’s fundraising initiatives were recognised. Members of the St Chris Think Pink fundraising campaign were honoured to receive the title of “Winner of the 2014 School Award” for their efforts towards raising awareness and vital funding. Kirsty McKay and Helen Kamal (St Chris Think Pink Coordinators), received the Award along with student representatives and the Heads of School on Wednesday, 22 April. The achievement acts as recognition for the whole school’s continuing support of the campaign, which this year saw an impressive array of fundraising activities being arranged by staff, students and parents across both the Isa Town Campus and Saar Campus.

Faye Khalifa from Think Pink Bahrain stated: “I would like to thank you for supporting the charity’s goals and for running the campaign at St Christopher’s School on both sites. Your efforts have been outstanding! Awareness is a key goal we aim to achieve and you have helped do that for the parents and staff as well as building a community service spirit, which was evident in the students’ willingness to support the cause in any way they can. My appreciation also extends to everyone who has also helped this cause!” She went on to say that “The generous donation received has been utilised towards paying the final instalment for the first public funded, breast specific MRI machine, which will be installed in Salmaniya Medical Complex for screening nationals and expatriates, free of charge, as needed.”
