Another Weekend of Hard Work with lots of Fun
On March 11, Mr Holness and his team took 34 Year 5 and 6 pupils to compete at the U11 BSME Games. The event this year was to be held at the Aspire complex in Qatar. The facilities were amazing and this is where world class competitions are held, including training camps for Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The event consists of 5 disciplines; football, netball, athletics, swimming and basketball and is held over 4 days. 12 of the best schools in the region compete against each other.
Once again the teachers were extremely impressed with every member of the team. They were a credit to the school and excellent role models for Bahrain. They were particularly pleased with the netball team who showed great spirit. The athletics team performed brilliantly and a particular mention should go to Ben Callon and Coco DeSouza for outstanding athletic sprinting performances. The swimming team also deserve a big pat on the back for placing 2nd overall. Our best placing for some years.
“ It was really well organised and exciting and I made new friends from other schools” Ben Callon 6E
“ It was extremely fun but very high pressured” John Kenny
