The Thrill of the Race
On Thursday 25 May, 53 Year 1 and 2 children took on the challenge to swim in our Infant Swimming Championships. For some of the swimmers it would have been the first time they have ever swum in a competitive race, over 25m or 50m distance. The event opened with our youngest Reception swimmers who were invited to attend due to them demonstrating their freestyle technique during curriculum lessons. At regular intervals during the afternoon swimmers were awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons for being placed in their heat, and those who were the 3 fastest swimmers overall in each age group were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals.
A huge thank you goes to the teachers, swim coaches and Senior School students who gave up their time to come to support this event.
