Watch Dogs!

Year 1 children welcomed some very special visitors and were able to help ‘watch dogs’ when the education team from the BSPCA, accompanied by Toby, a five year old Golden Retriever and Poppy, a tiny five week old puppy came to visit. Until Toby and  Poppy had been taken in at the new centre they had both endured some really RUFFFFFFFF times.

The children listened to stories about how to properly look after a pet and found out about some of the work carried out by the BSPCA.

This learning was part of the work on Service To The Community that every child at St Christopher’s School is involved in. Year 1 will soon be starting a letter writing and poster campaign to request donations of consumable items that the centre use with the animals in their care on a regular basis.

Children and their families can get involved by supporting the BSPCA Dog Walk on Friday 15 March. For any information on the BSPCA you can look at their website.
