A Race with a Difference
On the same day as the Wheelathon, a new race The Duathlon was held in the blustering wind, with sand swirling in the sky – not your average race day! The Bahrain National Coach and Selector, Vicent Baltran, was ready and waiting with a select cohort of incredibly talented young athletes. The female Duathlon, consisting of a 2km run, a 5.4km cycle around the BIC track and another 2km run was won by our very own Kizzy Price (Year 10)! Kizzy had just returned from representing Great Britain, winning her very first individual Gold Medal for GBR in the Biathlon in Dubai. There were many St Chris students picking up places, however, the male Duathlon was won in a fantastic 25mins 25 seconds by Bahraini 2020 Olympic hopeful Abdullah Attiya.
