Rocking the Room

The annual Spring Concert is always a fantastic celebration of all musical achievements that have happened so far in the year. This year, it had a Rock theme and the programme did not disappoint. The audience were lucky enough to enjoy a variety of classic rock songs and contemporary tunes such as ‘Happy’ and ‘I See Fire’. Pulse opened the show with a lively performance of ‘We Will Rock You’ and Cantata brought the concert to a close with a dramatic rendition of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. The Senior School Orchestra, along with the Instrumental team, performed a medley of Led Zeppelin classics such as ‘Kashmir’ and ‘Stairway to Heaven.’

Our Senior Brass Group, Arnold Brass, entertained the audience with a variety of Queen classics such as ‘Another one bites the dust’ and it was brilliant to see the Woodwind Group and the Big Band collaborate for their performances. Mr Marcelo’s award winning Guitar Ensemble performed their clever arrangement of ‘Radioactive’ by Imagine Dragons, which is always a delight to hear. It was great to see the two String Groups join together and showcase Bastille’s famous hit ‘Pompeii’.   All of the Senior School Ensembles have been working hard for the past term getting their pieces ready and their performances made the Music Department very proud. A big thank you to all the fantastic students who were involved.
