Monitoring Mental Health
We were pleased to welcome Dr Gardenia Al Saffar to address the Senior Science Society on Sunday 8 March. Dr Al Saffar gave the students an introduction to the field of Psychiatry, explaining how she assesses and helps her patients.
She also stressed the importance of helping people with Mental Health problems, which afflict 1 in 5 of the population. Our prospective medical students, from Year 10 through to Year 12, were captivated by the presentation, learning the difference between Psychiatry and Psychology. We were very grateful for the time given by Dr Al Saffar and the assistance of the Royal Bahrain Hospital. ~ AWA, March 2015
