Art on the Move

The Infant and Junior Schools Art Exhibition marked a significant collection of children’s artwork from across the year groups. The theme of this year’s collection was ‘Movement’. It included projects from the Reception and Year 2 children exploring how the human body moves using photography and representing it in mod-roc relief figures. Sculpture inspired Nursery to produce wonderful textured pods. The Year 1 and Year 3 classes used hot and cold colours to explore natural movement.

The pupils in Year 4 worked hard to represent a fantastical fish scene based on a Japanese artist. The focus of art in Year 5 was to investigate kinetic movement which encouraged interaction from the observer. The pupils in Year 6 produced a vibrant selection of culture wheels which reflects the global community of St Christopher’s. We hope everyone enjoyed the opening event.
