International Baccalaureate Visual Arts Exhibition 2015
It was a pleasure to welcome everyone to the International Baccalaureate Visual Arts Exhibition 2015. As always, our students presented a display of exceptional studio work that is illustrative of our diverse student body. Four students exhibited work this year, each of them mapping the progress of a project from the initial notion to the finalised expression. Every step of the two year journey was carefully planned out and visually communicated. The International Baccalaureate Visual Arts Exhibition was defined by its sense of ambition and diversity. The Higher Level Diploma projects were personally driven and chosen by the students. Visitors were able to enjoy a range of art work from painting, photography, installation, textiles, ready-mades to sculpture.
Thought-provoking and at times challenging work has been produced, along with informative work journals that only add to our understanding of the underpinned concepts. A sample of the student’s work has been documented in the 2015 Art Catalogue. This high quality publication is a celebration of achievement for students to cherish in later years. I would like to thank our parent sponsors, and the Senior School Art staff for their overwhelming support with this. Amber Rowe has assisted with the design for the Catalogue and I would like to thank her for all her time and effort with this. The hard work from the students, Art staff and Senior Management Team as a collaborative effort has made the International Baccalaureate Visual Arts Exhibition a real success. Thank you for attending the show and I hope that we will see you for the GCSE, AS and A Level Art Exhibition on Tuesday 26 May 2015.
