Kindness is Free

The school was buzzing yet again last month when we celebrated Random Acts of Kindness Week. Children across the Infant and Junior Schools were inspired to think of different ways that we could show our gratitude to our hard-working cleaners and caretakers. Thank you letters, poems and cards were delivered by children across the school who had worked in their classes to think of different ways to show their appreciation. The Kindness Club also decorated our cleaning staff’s area with stars and messages of thanks.

At the start of the week, positive messages on post-it notes were placed all over the school. The children worked hard to think of inspirational notes and it was undeniable that coming across these notes during your day left you with a big smile on your face. They also drew pictures using chalk all around the Nursery playground that they hoped would bring a smile to the younger members of our community.

RAK Week

The Kindness Club greeted everyone at the gates on the very last day of the week with hugs, high fives, stickers and baked goods. There is always such a lively and happy feeling on mornings like that, and the children feel incredibly proud of themselves as they know they have given everyone a warm and loving start to their day.

One of our favourite parts of the week is hearing stories from children who had gone out of their way to spread kindness outside the school community. Some had shown their gratitude to nannies and drivers, others chose to fill the Feed the Need fridges with food. We hope that even the smallest acts of kindness made their way into your homes.
