Parents of Year 7 and 8 students were invited into the Senior School on Wednesday 4 October to observe sample lessons taking place and take part in activities that showcased how St Chris students are taught. The activities included a Design and Technology lesson, a French lesson, a Geography lesson, an Enrichment session and a video presentation which showed ‘A Day in the Life of’ our Year 9 student Salim Al Shahry to give parents an overview of a typical student’s day from start to finish.

The classroom-based activities included volunteer students being taught by the teacher so that parents could see the many different teaching strategies that are commonly used to engage learners.  Some parents were even brave enough to participate in an interactive ‘Kahoot’ quiz, in which devices are used to answer a series of questions projected onto the whiteboard in a fun, quiz format.

Parent feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with one parent commenting, ‘The new interactive format was brilliant! Loved attending the classes and getting a real feel of a day in the life of our kids in senior school.’
