 Adventures the St Chris Way

IMAG0389

For the first time the St Chris Award children went on a residential adventure camp in the UAE. Thirty-one very excited Year 6 children showed that were made of stern stuff by taking part in a variety of challenging activities in the desert. They hiked for miles through sand dunes, scaled the heady heights of the climbing wall and had fun on the water kayaking, raft building and snorkeling.

Many essential survival skills were learned including: surviving the cold of night under canvas; building and lighting fires; improvised shelter building and what wildlife and plants to avoid. A great time was had by all sitting around the campfire and learning about the night sky and adrenaline rush whilst sand boarding down the dunes.

Bear Grylls would be proud of them all!
