On the morning of Wednesday 5 December 2018, both 7E and 7H participated in a History Cross Phase visit to the Junior School. The young historians from 7E and 7H had the opportunity to assist Year 5 students with a wide and varied range of engaging historical learning activities focused on the Spanish Armada of 1588. The students from both year groups worked collaboratively to produce some outstanding history work on the day. Moreover, the students had the chance to develop their teamwork and communication skills, as well as their understanding of this highly significant historical turning point. Amongst other activities, the students taught each other about their knowledge of Queen Elizabeth I, King Philip II and the reasons for the eventual failure of the Spanish Armada. The students from 7E and 7H reported that they had a productive and exciting learning experience on the day supporting the learning and progress of the younger students while developing fresh historical insights and perspectives of their own.
